Reverse Mortgage Counseling

Several safety features are built into the FHA Government insured reverse mortgage. One of those is independent third-party counseling. This is accomplished in person or by telephone. You now have the option of completing the counseling and application by telephone and mail. 

A counselor will call the reverse mortgage applicant's to ask questions and possibly make recommendations regarding borrowing and financing options.

    After consulting your loan specialist you may go ahead and call
1-(800)-364-5597 or 1-(866)255-2227
to complete telephone counseling or contact your
loan officer to obtain locations where counseling is performed
in person in your area.  The counseling certificate is valid for 180
days and may be used with any lender you choose.

Following the counseling session, an FHA Certificate of Counseling will be mailed to the app licants to be included in the reverse mortgage application file. Please ask the Counselor to also Fax a copy of the completed Counseling Certificate to us Toll Free at the fax number listed below.
